And I don't think the diurectic part is because of direct effects from the medicine. I think its a secondary or tertiary effect. I don't see anywhere where it is classified as a diuretic, but it has diuretic properties.

It actually does the opposite on the vascular system from what a diuretic should do (this due to being a stimulant). Diuretics help correct fluid overload and can help with high blood pressure. Ephedrine is contraindicated in each.

I honestly don't know. I doubt the NCAA would random test a RS, but stranger things have happened.

If true and it was the NCAA, he's gone for a year pending an overule by appeal. Gone forever with 2nd offense.

If inhouse testing (and true), he'll be slinging cowhide this Fall.

Actually this is true. A transfer QB from the coast signed and transfered to Ole Miss. He was busted with steroids and was kicked off the team. I can't remember his name but he was from Madison Central. This is a true...

If I spelled it right is a diuretic and a stimulant. One half of the old Phen-Phen shit that got outlawed. And yes, it is performance enhancing as well. Has the effect of an amphetimine while causing you to lose alot of water weight.

It allows people to lose weight before competing, and there are diuretics that also act as stimulants. I remember Diego Maradona being removed from the 1994 World Cup after he tested positive for ephedrine.

I haven't heard the rumor , but I do know for a fact that the NCAA comes in during the spring and administors random drug tests. They only test for steroids , cocaine, diuretics , and amphetimines. It's usualy during spring practice with the NCAA comes in so the time frame is about right to get back results from a test.

I would think testing positive would be swept under the rug, just like the first couple of dope pops are. Does the NCAA test? I can't recall a player ever being suspended for that in college.
