Do you think that the recent success in New Orleans has changed, or had much of an effect on, the decision to move the franchise?
Just wondering because I know less about NBA front office goings-on than I do about the games.

Question for NBA fans... |

I remember prior to this season there was much talk that the Hornets would be moved to Oklahoma City.

So, I guess the Hornets are safe for now.

in person and don't trust them. My biggest fear is to be driving home from work and one of those bastards pop up from the back seat and start biting me or
just anything. I die from a heart attack as soon as I see him. Most of them are very angry." - ScaldedbanditReb

If anything, the Hornets will move to Seatle once they build a new arena. The Sonics are headed to OKC.

hornets were chosen for charlotte becasue on of the british generals called the city the hornets' nest after a battle there (they also have this as their
seal); now they are new orleans despite the fact that the hornet is tied to charlotte; new orleans used to be the jazz for obvious reasons, now that us utah?
wtf? supersonic is somehow tied to seattle but i'm not sure how. they should move philly to seattle and call them the seattle seventy-sixers.

Katrina probably saved both the Saints and the Hornets in New Orleans. Both were making moves to pack up and leave town. Now the NFL and the NBA are under
pressure to keep the franchises in place to help in the recovery of the city.

When the Hornets came to OKC, the owner tried to make it a permanent move. It got shot down by the NBA, but he has a wandering eye and will jump at the first
chance he gets to move the team to a more profitable city.
