TWO DAYS IN THE LIFE: The Oxford Beatles Shows |
Lead | ||
|
In 2007 I put on an Oxford Music Scene extravaganza to celebrate the 50th anniversary of John Lennon and Paul McCartney meeting. It was a benefit for
MusicCares and was a huge success, with 18 bands playing 50 Beatles songs. Blue Mountain headlined. This year is much bigger and is going to be grand, starting
tonight at Proud Larrys. Check out the Web-site. While I like the merchandise page, the music and motion pictures page is a lot of fun. This year the show is
to kick off the drive to have the Mississippi Music and Musicians Appreciation Hall built in Oxford. http://www.oxfordland.net/beatles/

"I think you just have to get over the fact that this year, the MS players want to represent the state at MSU." -- State fan paraphrasing what new
coach said to win their sheep love upon first setting foot on Mississippi soil.
