actually YOU better hope some don't qualify | #21

because you signed 37 motherfucking players.
If everyone qualifies, then Nutt is going to have to cut some loose, which will really warm the hearts of their high school coaches. That will lay some inroads for sure. Oh...wait. I forgot you've got all these kids who are going to greyshirt. Six or Seven, right? So Nutt is only going to sign 18 or 19 next year? He better be on some hosses then. |

Now don't you have your own football team to worry about? "People lobbying for additional stars for guys who've committed is indicative of the fact that these fucking idiots have forgotten that recruits are football players who might actually help us win games. They cry foul over a guy's star status as if it will make them block, tackle, or catch better once they get to campus. It's like making a reservation for a restaurant at which you've never eaten, and complaining to the restaurant reviewer that he should give it a higher ranking so that your expectations for the soup will be even higher." -Rebheaded Stranger, a true scholar and gentleman |

All I care about is that we're signing players the coaches want. Right now, it doesn't look like there are very many fillers in this class. You may
have 2 or 3 that the coaches settled for in signing. Outside of that, the only signees we have are guys that the coaches were willing to accept early in the
process and guys that were at the top of our board in the final weeks.
There isn't a ton of Plan B in our signing class regardless of what the rankings say on any specific players. So, if we grayshirt 6 or 7 guys and only bring in 18 next year, that's fine with me, because it'll be 25 players that were high on the coaches list. What most of you don't realize is that we needed a big class with some grayshirts. This past year we had about 72 players on scholarship (13 under the limit). We graduate 12 scholarship players. So, we're down to 60 returning scholarship players. We'll obviously bring in 25 scholarship players with this class, plus some grayshirts. So, in 2009, we'll have right at the full 85 scholarship players on the roster. After 2009, we graduate another 21 players, plus any transfers or guys leaving early, which will probably give us right at another 25 scholarships to give for 2010. We aren't going to need a lot of help from this signing class in the 2009 season fortunately, but we're going to need a lot of help for 2010, so it'll be big for us to have 30+ players on campus who already have a year under their belt by 2010. |

Ntt won this year left us 41 scholarship players the thought of worrying about too many numbers instead of low numbers and attrition is just fine with me.
So is winning games, being a top ten team and challenging for the West and SEC. I am growing to like having you Hawgs to look over us. you make me feel so safe and loved.

If everyone qualifies, then Petrino is going to have to cut some loose, which will really warm the hearts of their high school coaches. That will lay some inroads for sure. Oh...wait. As I understand it | #28

we signed 30 motherfucking players. Which is, in fact, seven fewer than 37.
Two players (Stewart and Davis) count back to last year, so we can sign 27 this year. We know of three who are sign and place. 30-3=27. That means we didn't oversign. Ole Miss, on the other hand, most likely did. I guess we'll see in August. thx4plyngku |

Urban Meyer and Florida signed 16 this year.
Georgia signed 18. USC signed 19. It happens. I guess they don't make plans at USC, Florida or Georgia. They probably draw their plays up in the dirt, too. Only Bobby Petrino has figured out to have plays drawn up before a game. |

gahogfan wrote: We had a plan too, and it included telling some guys that there was a chance they might have to grayshirt if too many people signed. And guess what, 16 of the 20 remaining prospects on our board chose Ole Miss in the last 10 days of the process, so we oversigned. We're going to have to grayshirt more than we expected because so many recruits wanted to play for Coach Nutt. It's a good problem to have. Trust me on that. Under Orgeron and Cutcliffe we had quite a few classes that were undersigned. For that matter, 4 of our last 5 classes (before Nutt arrived) were undersigned. You can plan all you want to, but as part of your plan, you have to expect some of your top prospects to choose other schools. Unfortunately (or is that fortunately) almost all of our top prospects at the finish chose Ole Miss. See...Good problem to have. |

I bet Nutt has no clue what he's going to do. He's going to throw a few bacon explosions on the 50 and those that come away with one get a
scholarship...the rest are sent packing. Give me a break. Of course you assume that all the top players are the ones with grade issues but it's truly the
opposite. The only top prospects with even work to do is Tig and Z Mason and they are both "on track" to qualify. The casulaties come from the
lower ranked guys.

Signing more players than you have available scholarships is called "oversigning." Maybe definitions change in Petrinoville.

The only reason you even care is because we closed so strong that our class was either ranked ahead of your class or right behind it in every major recruiting
service. So you've lost the "Nutt can't recruit" argument, and now you have to resort to other attacks at his recruiting class. It's
pretty amusing actually.
Maybe, it's just that he did such a good job selling Ole Miss that he had more players want to play for him than he expected, and now he's going to have to figure out what to do with them all. Believe me, it's a good thing, because it's not like we've oversigned with a bunch of Plan B recruits. These are all guys that the staff really like. |

When they come to Oxford and get r-u-n o-f-t.

recruiting Dex, I told them they'd better sign him or he'd come back to bite them in the ass. He bit them in the ass last fall."

Florida. Georgia. USC. All superior programs in superior recruiting areas. Not fucking Mississippi.
Florida. Georgia. USC. Coincidentally, schools which Nutt has a lifetime record of 1-10 against. Cumulative score in those games? 411-215. I don't give a shit if you believe in Nutt. I hope you do. I would, too. But come up with something better than fucking Florida, Georgia, and USC. Jesus. |
