Posts: 1 Feb 5, 2009 3:19 PM	Tags : None So I thought I would skip the whole introduction bullshit and just throw this out there....(not that this matters but maybe we can fight this awful branding, mish mash of wal-mart color schemes and horrible marketing we have at Ole Miss) I am a web/graphic designer in an Atlanta agency.(BFA from OM, MA from SCAD) I am currently designing a COMPLETE branding effort which will be handed to Ole Miss free of charge (since I do love them so). If you would like to contribute any ideas, please get in touch with me. I would like your intelligent feedback on something I scrapped together after looking at that awful landshark image down the board (undersea adventure). I included two posters below. The slogan could use some work. Any suggestions? Even designer/advertiser/branding strategists need outside feedback from you business folk sometimes. Feel free to rip it to shreds, in my line of work, we have leather for skin.

Posts: 73 Feb 5, 2009 3:33 PM	I'd probably include an Ole Miss logo on it. Also, you should probably get a shot of Powe wearing his #57 instead of what looks like a 91 on the left picture. And of course, include different posters of guys other than Powe, since he doesn't, you know, start. I am a fan of both of the little tag lines, though, and the fin logo is cool. I guess my biggest fear with such a campaign is that the players will start to think it's hokey and stop doing it on the field. However, if it must be done, I guess I'd rather trust someone who actually deserves to have a job than anyone who works for the Ole Miss marketing dept. <cue 'Crazy Train,' fire up the Rebel Chopper, light the fireworks...> I'm actually graduating with a marketing degree in May. Assuming I'm intelligent and creative, and communicate well with people, how difficult is it to find a decently cool marketing job these days?

I agree, I think the entire defense needs a poster for each player which would be hung up in the locker room. Maybe another nickname could be applied to the offense, what do ya'll think? UMXReb, that crazy train campaign was a nightmare, thank God it derailed, za-zing! Not too tough to find a marketing job, just make sure you can wear many hats (operate adobe products, draw better than a monkey, put up with the creatives bullshit)
