Here's a fun thought, assume you could replace four starters from next years FB team |
Lead | ||
|
with four Rebels from the past, who would you choose from the past and would adding these four players take us to a BCS game? I will post my four choices later
in the thread.

whether it was our great scheme (kaufman's 4-2-5), or our secondary, it looked like we were playing with 9 instead of 11 on d.

I wasnt sure if he played on the line but lists him as a LB on our all century team? | #27
|
And thought he played that rushing LB with GB, we like to blitz anyway. sure we can fit him in there somewhere!
Another one I had - was trying to avoid taking Willis just cause he is the obvious choice as mentioned - was Freddie Joe Nunn (another DL) but looks like he's listed DL/LB as well in the NFL. (Willis is probably the best choice as I don't think we have a true MLB on the team, but with the prevalence of the spread it is maybe not as necessary.)

Patrick Willis is like four players, but if you insist my other three are as follows:
S. Taylor C. Spencer Corey Petersen (sp)? |

I remember Gator and Freddie Joe as defensive ends | #29

but I guess they could have stood up at times, a lot of old times there by me are forgotten.

saw someone else do a 2nd choice and bcs/atlanta with my 2nd choices as well:
Freddie Joe, DL/LB (as with Gator play him as a blitzer for LB); Tim Bowens, DL, Wade, OL; and Mike Wallace - we just dont have any historically great WR that stick out to me and that is one thing I think that I would add with this list. Considering he played his FR for nought he should get another year! The same thing with DB as well.

Patrick Willis, Gene Hickerson, McAlister, Barry Wilburn. To be frank we needed Mike Wallace ... | #32

one more year. He was just learning how to run routes and Snead was really getting his timing with him. O blew a redshirt for 2 or 3 plays in 05. Yeah,
redshirting is a bad thing. Dumb cajun.

I'm basing mine only on players we've had since I became an Ole Miss fan | #34
|
Metcalf, Willis, Lucas and 1999 Deuce.
Some will disagree with Deuce because we could use help at other positions first. But, despite our strong stable of running backs, we do not have a guy who has proven he may take it to the house any time he touches the ball.

Well, OL is the biggest position of need in my eyes, so I'm taking two there.
I'll take a combination of Lindsay, Oher, Metcalf, and Wade. Pick two, any two, and we'll shift the OL around to get the best 5 on the field. For my other two, I'd like to shore up some depth at LB and DB, so I'm taking Lucas and Willis. Obviously Lucas and Willis would start, and a current starter would be bumped for the depth. I'd love to take Peria, but DL is one of the least of my concerns. I wouldn't take a QB, RB, or WR either, because I feel pretty good about those as well. |
