It is cheaper to get high than buy cigarettes with all the new taxes added to them.

Call me crazy, but legalizing could help lead us out of the recession and help with the deficit. | #3
|
It would create new jobs by creating a new "legal" industry which would put more money in the pockets of the consumer.
It would give the government another good to tax putting more money in the pockets of the government. And as a side effect, the fast food and convenience store industries would probably see a spike in sales as consumers demand more munchies. |

I agree, decriminalization would have a lot of perks but it does have negative side effects too. I watched a CNBC special on it last night before the damn
Hornets game,(glad I stayed up to watch my team get thrashed, that was neat.) They said it amps up violent crimes and fires. But that has more to do with
growers.
Legalization would mean a whole lot of people who had been busted for weed would be freed and would most likley have a negative effect on the economy but decriminalization would avoid that. Either way you know Little Debby has got their lobbiests pushing for it. |

how in the world would legalization cause fires? | #5
|
I would think it would cause less, as it would now mostly be grown by licensed farmers.

Yeah, but we'd be inviting the devil into our homes... | #6

and allowing him to impregnate our white, Christian daughters and wives with lesbian abortion doctors. Mexicans will take over our largest companies and those
of us who are not aborted (abortions are legal all the way up until the 380th trimester) will be forced into internment camps where we'd be turned into
sinewy threads for panchos.
Also, it would turn our sons into queer-o-sexuals. They would be at their football practice, and as soon as it was legalized, *BAM!!*: Instant gay orgy. I could go on. If you read your Bible and had it explained to you correctly, you'd see just how wrong you are.

People who grow weed arn't exactly known for their tight saftey measures. 50% of the fires in Mendicino county ( right near Humbolt) are caused bby
growers.

That's because they are having to use covert measures.
If it were legal to grow, they'd have a better system. People with high out put lights and other electrical gadgets hidden in attics and small closets are the reasons for fire. People would use different means and methods if it were legal to grow. Robert Elliot lives across the street from me. I was watching the whole fucking time. The Ole Miss coaches came out of the house and Croom and Melvin Smith
pull up on dubz riding spinners. Freeze gets pissed and whips out his cell phone. Croom and Smith pull off with Jermaine Dupree blaring "Money Ain't a
Thing." Croom flipped off the Ole Miss coaches as they were riding off.

Its legal to grow in Mendicino county, lots and lots of legal gardens. Each person is allowed up to 5 plants. People have been recruiting their families to
move there so they can grow their alotment too. Officials estimate 60% of the population is envolved in growing in some form.

Economically depressed states such as California and MS | #11
|
should be granted 7-year commercial grow and sell licenses after which all states would be able to legislate their own growing and trade.
This way poor shitty assbackward states drowning in the religious right (the south) would have an opportunity to make money. It would pass the religous fanatics if they could see the profit first. MS could construct millions of square feet of indoor grow facilities as well as outdoor fields. Your ag land worth a few hundred dollars to a few thousand dollars per acre would then be worth many times more. The expansion of wealth would be huge. |

I've seen Marijuana Inc....the documentary with Al Rocker that you just watched...at least twice. I have a friend who lives in the Emerald Triangle. Up to 25 plants grown for personal was allowable. Then in 2008, Measure B was passed that scaled back the limit to 6 plants. This is in line with California law. Many growers in that area are growing much more than 6 plants, thus the need to still conceal it. Federal law trumps state law. It is still illegal in California. and even though it is decriminalized by Cali, the feds would still raid them | #14
|
though the new attorney general has said that will stop, but we'll see.
Growing five plants is not that dangerous. growing 200 in one house can be.

Rokerless documentary. Some lady, Trish Regan http://www.cnbc.com/id/28281668
You had some serious chronic if you really watched the doc a few times and thought that lady was Al Roker. Here is a pic of Trish: http://www.cnbc.com/id/17579209 |

There are two. One was on CNBC and the other was on MSNBC. I forgot that some lady did the first one. The second one was big Al Roker, but I guarantee you that it was serious chronic.
