Mike Justice as a college assistant? | #1

Unless State was planning on running veer, gap, or lead every play, Mike wouldn't have been too much help.
Your favorite sports team scores a game tying point, you find a dollar in the street, you see someone you hate get their ass kicked in public, all of these blissful moments deserve, nay, demand the most communal of public displays of pleasure: The Landshark. |

12/24/96 - For anyone in the Columbus, Miss. area, you can find a Jeff Whitaker Deep South Recruiting Guide at the Bookland book
store in the Leigh Mall. It is $4.50 but it is an outstanding guide. He has a good deal of info on over 600 players from the southeast states, Texas and the
south's junior colleges. He also rates them on a scale of 9.00 to 10.00. There were only 8
issues left. If you can't find this guide in your location call Southeastern Sports Publishing at (205) 582-5257.

I didn't realize how many big time programs expressed interest in Romero. | #4

Actually they may not have been too interested, but he had some impressive visits scheduled. In high school I watched him pick apart Water Valley in a monsoon
during the State 3A playoffs(Sorry Ice, we). Best high school QB I've seen in person to this day.
Also, Meridian High was stacked back then as well. |

Wayne Madkin was one of the most fortunate QBs in SEC history. | #5

He benefited greatly from a Joe Lee defense and a very conservative offense. Put him with State now and he would not have nearly the wins he did back then.

A shout out to BWAYNE? | #6

12/13/96 - In the latest issue of Sports Illustrated, there is an article about the Brad Lott incident. To say it makes Ole Miss look bad, is an
understatement. Although, it is mostly negative, it does mention that the Ole Miss administration has completely disassociated Brad Lott from Ole Miss. It also
mentioned that Brad Lott has resigned his position from the Jackson County Port Authority. Not only has Brad Lott hurt Ole Miss, he has hurt the entire state
of Mississippi. This only reinforces what some uninformed people outside the state believes about the people in our state, that we are all a bunch of racist
people. A few bad apples can do so much damage to so many good people. All I can recommend to each one of you is if you hear racist comments coming from your
fellow alumni at sporting events, tell them to please refrain, because it reflects badly on the whole state. There are always plenty of people outside of the
state who want to find as much dirt on Mississippi as possible, and it is up to each one of us to make sure there is no dirt to be found. Well, so much for my
soapboxing.
Question: What does this have to do with MSU athletics? |

These are the last few sentences from the article what you just posted:
"A few bad apples can do so much damage to so many good people. Well, so much for my soapboxing." I am tempted to post a link to the 1997 NY Times article I just read, but it makes us look too bad. It also makes one further appreciate how much Khayat has done for the University. |

so if the university disassociates itself from you, you can still go to football games? | #10
|
what's the point then?

It would take a ton of manpower | #11

and resources to keep someone out of an Ole Miss Football game.
That being said, it's pretty clear we've done very little to disassociate from BWAYNE. |

He did a mea culpa, made some nice donations. That's all it takes. In addition, he is good buddies with the Telesouth people.
