David Simon (creator of The Wire) at City Grocery. Even though I think The Wire is the greatest drama of all time, I resisted bugging him.

Steven Seagal playing blues guitar with Kenny Brown one night at Larry's | #27 | ||
|
Literally walked in, saw those two and thought I'd entered the twilight zone. There were maybe 10 people there.
Also late nighted with Robert Randolph the year he did Rumble in the Grove and it got rained out. He and Daniell (Danyale?) and some dude from the neighborhood who played the flute (no shit) played Thank You Fa Lettin Me Be Mice Elf acoustic for about 45 minutes in my friend's livingroom. Beyond the pale. Drank a beer with Zac Thomas at the Library once when he was in town with Todd Wade when both were on the Dolphins. I'm sure there are more that I'm forgetting. |

who, I hear, almost shit himself when he heard that one of the writers of the greatest cop show ever made was in Oxford. He would have bugged the shit out of
that guy.

"Always with the negative waves, Moriarty. Always with the negative waves." Oddball
"You know, you don't have-a a patron saint for the United States, but there are some American saints. Just the last couple of years they made-a some. The first was-a about-a two years ago. Her name was-a Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton. Mother Seton-is-a what they call her. And she's got-a these nuns of her own order who lobby-they're real heavy-they came to Rome and everything. And it's amazing, you see. To be made a saint in-a the catholic church, you have to have-a four miracles. That's-a the rules, you know. It's-a always been that-a. Four miracles, and-a to prove it. Well, this-a Mother Seton-now they could only prove-a three miracles. But the Pope-he just waved the fourth one. He just waved it! And do you know why? It's-a because she was American. It's all-a politics. We got-a some Italian-a people, they got-a forty, fifty, sixty miracles to their name. They can't-a get in just cause they say there's already too many Italian saints, and this woman comes along with-a three lousy miracles. I understand that-a two of them was-a card tricks." I actually have met alot of famous people this year in Oxford, I actually met Jack del Rios last night, 3-6 Mafia when they were in town last fall. And the
best of all, I got to drive around Rudy Giuliani during the presidential debate, and saw McCain and Obama at The Inn.

Jello Biafra. Really nice guy and one of the best front men ever.
Shannon Hoon was fun to party with, too. Also, Fugazi were cool. They filmed part of their movie in Oxford, you know? |

to play with. He dresses like he is in one of his movies(fringed native american leather jacket and boots) he sucked as a guitar player, and cheesy on
harmonica. However, most people look like douches playing harmonica, i.e. that guy with grey hair that was on american idol.

Don't ever worry about being "retardedly optimistic." I don't know of any other way to approach a situation.
