Not sure what to think. I did get real confused at the beginning, when that guy was on the beach with Jacob. I kept trying to remember who he was then finally realized I really know him from Deadwood. But apparently that guy took over Locke's image or some shit?

There's so much going on here. Can Jacob leave the island at will? Was he actually jumping back to intervene with the characters as Eloise did with
Desmond? I'm willing to gamble that he's a God-figure of something. The repeated "it's your choice"/free will stuff and Ben struggling
with not seeing what he was asked to believe...too glaring to overlook. Here's something to destroy your day:

I read somewhere that | #2

the smoke monster took on the image of Locke, Christian and Alex. I thought that was pretty ridiculous until last night. Maybe the guy talking to Jacob at
the beginning has ties with the smoke monster.
I yearn to be stuck on an island with Evangeline Lilly.

Think it's pretty obvious at this point that the smoke monster and Jacob's enemy are one and the same, and that everything the smoke monster (and all
it's incarnations - Christian, Locke's Daughter and Ecko's brother) has done has been an effort to figure out the loophole and get himself in a
position to kill Jacob.
Think these guys are Gods of some sort for sure. |

My only real complaint.... | #4
|
Is that Jacob and other guy dynamic is just now coming out.
Also, Im not entirely sure that the bomb went off or not, Im assuming it did, but Im not sure. If Juliet was successful and Jack is right, everyone should be alive in 2004 on their way to LA. Based upon the ending, Im not sure how this doesn't happen or something close to that. |

Maybe.... | #5 | ||

somehow the bomb reacts to the energy, and doesn't actually destroy the island. Just a guess. I'm assuming it went off.
It probably is like Miles said, they just created the need for the hatch and the button.

also, I'm thinking | #6 | ||

that Richard came over on that boat from the beginning. What language was that he was speaking, portugese?

The scenario played out very close to what Desmond did in the end of season 2, where he blew up the hatch, which basically is what Juliet did.
Lost of similiarities between Juliet and Desmond, both were on the island when the losties arrived on the island, both were making a sacrifice for someone they hoped to see again, and the season basically ended with that. Though Season 2 had a little more to it. The problem with Miles' theory is that if the bomb went off, there is no way Dr. Chang is able to make any videos to talk about the incident. The theories at odds here are Destiny versus Free Will. Jacob seems to be a free will kind of guy, while the other guy is a Destiny type of guy. Though most of the season has been about how What Happens, Happened, I think Jacob showed how everyone has free will, i.e. Hurley and his decision to go back to the island. One thing about Lost, the season cliff hangers, are exactly that. My wife watches a show called Brothers and Sisters and I watched the "finale" and it was the first time I watched that show, and those two shows should not be allowed to be on the same network. |

Latin. The answer to the riddle was something like "He whom shall save/protect us". | #8

so I have been told.
I think the losties in 1977 end up in 2007/present/whenever the fuck. It appears as if Jacob hand picked Jack, Sayid, Kate, Sawyer, etc. I see two scenarios- OK more than that but I don't have time and I am wrong a whole bunch- in any event the island/Jacob/Esau come to an end. 1. The bomb went off- kills everyone- Jacob is never killed. The losties land safely and nothing ever happens. I doubt this occurs 2. The bomb never goes off. The incident sparks a war and that's how everyone dies. They build the hatch to cover the bomb and magnet thingamabob. O6 end up in 2007 and are part of Jacob's army to destroy Esau. |

Smokey and the guy who wants to kill Jacob are | #9
|
two different people. He masquerades to fit his needs. I'm beginning to think that Smokey was never able to take the shape of people at all, that it was
just this guy the whole time moving things around to get to eventually kill Jacob.
I still imagine a scenario where the 13-0 Rebels are a mere second or two away from kickoff against USC in the Rose Bowl
for all the marbles and then good lord baby Jesus shows up in the clouds to call me and all the other good Rebels home... what do we do? Accept our eternal
glory or stick around to see if our boys can seal the ultimate deal?

I think they just flashed forward. The bomb didn't go off. The screen went white like when they flashed back.

I've decided that I enjoy the show more by just letting it unfold instead of trying to figure out | #11

what happens next. I do kind of think that when John loses his reanimation, he will turn back into the gray smoke.
Here's a pretty good YahooTV write-up on last night's show: Spoilers if you haven't watched yet.
Rick Rodriguez, Dexter McCluster's H.S. coach: "When the Florida recruiters came down
recruiting Dex, I told them they'd better sign him or he'd come back to bite them in the ass. He bit them in the ass last fall."

Some fairly interesting stuff in there, but... | #12

but someone so heavily into the show they make some pretty big assumptions, i.e. Jacob being dead and the bomb detonating.

I think with the flash, etc. they have to. Plus, Juliet is going to be the star of another show so apparently she won't be back much.

I wish Kate died instead of Juliette | #14

because this Jack-Sawyer triangle has played itself to death. I'll admit, i'dhitiku?, but I'm not even interested anymore in who gets
"Freckles"
On another note, Waste of Chevron seems to think Jack is superior to Sawyer as a leader and should have won the fist fight. I think I've been waiting a long time to Sawyer break the doctor's face. Thoughts? .

I was a little pissed off by the result of the fist fight. | #15

I've been waiting for years for Jack to kick Sawyers ass. Then Sawyer turns the ass beating around by kicking Jack in the groin. Very dissatisfying.

And then they both just walk away like it was a slap fight. | #16
|
Doubled fists, groin kicks, wooden clubs, multiple unblocked shots to the face, and then they hop up with just some bloodied faces, instead of the brain damage
Jack would have incurred.

Sawyer fights like a Mortal Kombat all-star. Jack fights like a man whose father thought he was too much of a pussy to learn how to fight.
