I am looking to get a new digital camera for my birthday. I would like one with a USB cable that will hook up to my mac and transfer pictures. Does anyone have
any insight on what I should get in that price range? I would like one with a lot of megapixels.

With that type of camera, and what you'll be using it for, you won't be able to tell a difference between 6 - 10 megapixels.

I've had this one for the last 18 months with no trouble, great pics and has every feature I need plus a ton that I don't. Ignore the prices in the
article, they are from Jan 08. It's much cheaper now and available everywhere.

Bought myself one for Christmas after mucho research. Has everything I wanted; 10 mpx, electronic viewfinder, rechargeable batteries (I hate having to use
AA's), 18x zoom, easy downloads and all the file formats you could want.
Do the google thing. I'm really pleased with mine and haven't second-guessed myself on the purchase after six months which is pretty unusual for me. Ode to Sunday Mowing
