Who would have taken Irwin out after or during the 5th? |

I thought for sure he was out of gas. He came out and gave another inning or 2 of solid pitching. Good move on Bianco to leave him in. I question Bianco's
pitching strategy a lot but I;ll give him credit for hanging with Irwin when it looked for sure like he was done.
Great win. |

I still think we bunt too much, but I am NOT talking about the one in the ninth. | #1
|
that was a good decision.

I can see us bunting in spots | #2

But we didn't bunt a whole lot during the regular season. Why start bunting and playing small ball now. Henry puts the ball in play or he walks, he's a
tough out. Let him take his cuts or work the pitcher for 7,8,9 pitches. He only worked him for 2 or 3. Batters like Henry frustrate pitchers, at the plate and
on the bases.

Im not sure of the actual number of bunts, | #3
|
but we bunted a lot this season. We have played small ball all year and nothing has changed.

I agree, we've bunted more than we have in the past. | #4

But we still don't play small ball a lot. Nothing like Texas did in 05. Those guys bunted every freakin' inning it seemed and had done it all year. We
tend to bunt in 1 and 2 run games which is fine. We just need to get better at it and know where to bunt.
Today, UVA had a right handed first baseman. With a man on 1st, try to bunt it toward him. He has to field it with his left hand and then turn and throw to 2nd to get the lead off runner. It's an awkward throw and may give the runner an extra step. Just small stuff. |

It's not bunting in general, just certain spots I don't like. Like a man on second and no outs | #5
|
Don't take away the chance at a big inning, especially with a contact hitter like Henry at the plate. He can work the pitcher, and he'll probably put
it in play. Good chance we advance to third even if he bats. And hey, maybe he gets a hit, and breaks it wide open. He's also good at drawing walks.
I just don't like it in those spots.

I hated us bunting there. | #6

Especially with Henry at the plate. The guy makes contact. Let him swing the stick. No need to waste an out, just to move him to 3rd base. I can see us doing
that with our 7,8,9 batters but not at the top of the order.

Henry has bunted too much the past few games | #7
|
which also means we miss out on his speed on the basebaths
