The point of all that is to say that as much as I have disagreed with Sourreb on Bianco needing to go, he starts to make more sense, and here's why. While many of us are unhappy with Rick's postseason failures, we can't seriously consider replacing him. We've been in the dance 6 of the last 8 years, and we've won numerous division titles and an SEC title. However, the biggest reason that we can't replace him is that there is nobody out there that we could get that would be as good (at least on paper). We could risk it, but we are probably much more likely to end up with somebody worse than him than somebody as good or better. We'd have to take a chance on an asst. or get some has-been. So we are stuck and we have to hope he pulls through at some point.
You guys are not stuck. There is somebody who is very likely to be as good as Bianco: Dan McDonnell. He is widely given credit for building your best teams. He has recruited very well in Mississippi. He is familiar with Ole Miss, and he has taken a team to the CWS and has continued to have success. Assuming McDonnell would come, you don't risk all that much by losing Bianco, at least to an outsider. Or would he be intensely loyal to Bianco and not take the job out of respect for him? Thoughts?
