He just went 107 to the Red Sox... | #4

Pretty sure he is gone. They will offer him way more than slot money, maybe even have pre draft deal with him.

Damn that hurts. They took him as a pitcher though, and he has said that he'd prefer to play every day. Hopefully we still have a chance, but I imagine
they're willing to offer up some big money.

eh, not being a homer but i kind of doubt that for that pick. we'll see. if he goes this year, it's for way less than has been reported as his
"net" number.

Its too hard to predict.... | #7
|
But considering they gave Casey Kelly 3 million dollars as the last pick of the first round, they will not hesitate to give their 3rd round pick a million if
they want him, and I would be willing to bet they want him.
The fact that they drafted him as a Pitcher may be more helpful, he really wants to play everyday, and so that may help. |

You hope we die and get goat aids and you know it.
I hope you get sucked into the Bermuda Triangle and transported to a vortex where you can only watch reruns of Cannon and Hollywood Squares, 24/7 nonstop. Where the hell have you been? Good to see you again. |

Yes I saw the story this morning in the Cl about him wanting to play every day..
and here are Theo Epsteins comments on Renfroe after the draft http://soxblog.projo.com/2009/06/sox-select-cf-r.html *edit* one more link...if you are wondering if the red sox will give first round money to a 3rd round pick...very possible...they were going to with Poythress http://chronicle.augusta.com/stories/2009/06/10/bas_527141.shtml Rich Poythress' phone couldn't keep up with the calls that began flooding in from teams as the first round of the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft wrapped up Tuesday night.

I hope you get sucked into the Bermuda Triangle and transported to a vortex where you can only watch reruns of Cannon and Hollywood Squares, 24/7 nonstop.Who is the Center Square?
I support the two most frustrating teams in America: The New Orleans Saints and the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
