if someone wants to shoot a Ken Burns-style mini-series on the last four decades of Ole Miss sports, selections from a REBMIK anthology would make a perfect
accompaniment for the conclusion of one of the episodes.
It would be like that scene in the Burns "Civil War" documentary where the narrator reads the letter from the soon-to-die Union soldier over the strains of "Ashokan Farewell." Can you imagine the emotions that you would experience as Morgan Freeman intoned the knee-jerk best of REBMIK while the violins keened and the camera rolled through scenes of a one-armed Archie Manning getting pummeled in Tiger Stadium in 1970, Eli tripping over Buckles' leg 33 years later, three different visiting teams dogpiling on the Swayze Field mound and Bryce Drew shooting over the flailing arms of Buck Flanigan? This has got Micah Ginn written all over it.
