Although I don't think you can call it luck when they do it time and time and time and time again.
They just demand excellence and they therefore get it. Can you imagine the monuments and street name changes for an Ole Miss baseball coach who went to two college world series in five years? We'd be melting the gold fillings from our teeth. |

If it were at all within the realm of the possible, I'd wish for their football program to get the death penalty as a result of violations reported on
Alabama stationery by Saban.
Fuck them and their culture of winning.
Don't ever worry about being "retardedly optimistic." I don't know of any other way to approach a situation.

SourReb wrote:Their attitude under Bertman was that whatever it took, they were going to find a way to win a national title every year. They lost that attitude with Lavall and after only 3 years of missing the CWS, they fired his ass and brought in someone who was going to do things the way Bertman did. Love them or hate them (and we all hate them), you've got to admire the hell out of them. Yeah, they're assholes. But we all wish they were our assholes. |

In his first year? I want to say they went 0-2, which of course isn't good enough and grounds for firing his ass

went 0-2 both times. Then for 2 years made the NCAA tournament but not the CWS (don't think they made a super regional either year, but I'm not sure),
then missed the tournament 1 year and his ass was history.

But I'll admit something I've never put in writing. I don't hate LSU. I grew up hating them and then went to Ole Miss and learned to hate them on a
new level. But then I went to law school there and, while I still hated something about them, I enjoyed being at a school that didn't settle for being just
ok.
Then I realized that I don't hate LSU as a whole. I was friends with some football players and would cheer for them when it didn't affect Ole Miss. What I hated was LSU fans, mostly the ones who didn't go to LSU at all. And this always puts me in a strange spot. I sometimes try to cheer for LSU but usually only when they're down. Then, especially in baseball, they start coming back and I remember how much I hate the fans and I start cheering for the Tigers to fail. It's a weird way to be. I will say thAt all in all I was happy tonight, mainly because of Mikie Mahtook. I used to work for his uncle, who pretty much raised him after his dad died. The family are all wonderful people, and I was glad to se Mikie with the clutch hit. His dad died something like 14 years ago yesterday, and he really is a good kid. Plus, his mom's pretty hot. Anyway, that's where I stand: stuck between enjoying seeing an SEC team, one that I had 3 great years at, play great...and then hating when they do great because I hate their fans. Mostly, I just error o. The side of hate, just to be safe. Your Signature ...

but I've never seen an athletic program (as a whole) get more lucky breaks than LSU. They have a long history of shit falling into their laps. look at the
kentucky game where the ball bounced off 11 guys and magically landed in their deepest receiver's hands. look at the last national title team. they lose 2
games to bad teams and still get to play in the NT game (in their home town, practically) against an overrated big ten team. last night was just another in a
long stretch of lucky breaks that they were able to turn into a win. That game was all but over and they manage to score two runs with 2 outs in their last at
bat due to Texas' pitching suddenly turning to shit across the board. As an SEC fan, it's great because it makes us all look a little better to have
them win, but as an Ole Miss fan who's spent my life watching my team catch the bad end of every lucky situation, it kills me to see them win a game like
that.
just once, I'd like to see us have some actual good luck, but no I've had to endure chris collins' foot go microscopically out of bounds (maybe) to negate what would have been the TD to send us to atlanta. I saw the 2 missed field goals by a lou groza winner. I've seen Evan Buckner botch the easiest play in baseball, the list goes on and on. Hopefully, we can buck the trend and catch a lucky break or two this fall. |

for me anyway, is that I KNEW they were getting that hit in the 9th. They always do. Thats the difference. And whats worse, living in Louisiana, thats all I
hear about today. Like ZInya, I dont hate LSU, never did, but I hate them in the context that its always them and never us. Ive taken solice in spouting off
31-13 to every corndog Ive run across this past year, but still, they get it done more times than not, and it sucks. That is all.
