My family is interested in buying season tickets for 2009, something they haven't done since '04. My parents aren't Ole Miss alumni (they both attended Georgia Southern) but became Rebel fans when I came to Oxford in '99. My only other sibling attended undergrad at Ole Miss as well, and since GSU is a I-AA, they're pretty much just Rebel fans exclusively.
The problem is, my old man (and me too, to some smaller extent) has what my girlfriend refers to as "Bibb County Tendencies" with visiting fans. He was irate in '04 when at almost every game he and Mom were surrounded by visiting fans. UL-Monroe, not really a concern - Alabama, Memphis and God Forbid the Cajun Whorde - a big concern.
It seems that whenever fans that aren't long-standing members of the Loyalty Foundation purchase season tickets, they get saddled in the "mixed areas." Is there anything that can be done about this? I usually just find a ticket for any section and go over to the edge of the student section, or use a press pass. However I'd enjoy 2009 a lot more if my old man didn't shoot anyone during a game.
Well. Depends on the week.
