you are making assumptions to fit your argument..... | #21

1. no one harps on petrino for recruiting thugs; i can't think of any of his recruits that were "thug" category (whatever that means);
2. if the kid started games in the sec as a freshman for a team that wasn't terrible, he must be decent and your d must be thin; 3. Nutt has a great record so far of his players at OM not getting in trouble; i'll give the man the benefit of the doubt that he knows what he is doing.

Guys...seriously. Hate on Bobby P, but quit comparing him to Ed O. As much as I hate Nutt, I recognize that he is 100x better than the shrimper. |

It will probably be good for you down the line in a few years when those guys get older and have that experience, but for the coming season, it's never good to be counting on true freshmen to help. For example, it's one thing to have a guy like Pat Patterson come in at WR with the ability to help as a back up, but it's another for that guy to be asked to start. For the first time in a while, I don't think we'll be counting on any freshmen to start, which is a good thing. Some will play, but when true freshmen are your only option for significant snaps, you will have some problems at that spot. |

You're basing your argument on size? | #24

I've got a 5'9" 220 Sam Olajubutu that disagrees with that.

Battle wasn't a starter.... | #25
|
....Wendel Davis is firmly entrenched as the starting MLB. Moss will probably be asked to back him up, probably with RS FR Jelani Smith.

And I've got a 5'3'' Mugsy Bogues that says you can play in the NBA.
Obviously, size isn't everything. But it is a lot. EDIT TO SAY: And Butu was 2 inches shorter and 15 pounds heavier than Battle. He was a think little SOB. |

Question... | #27 | ||
|
Why didn't Mallet get booted too?
Battle = DUI and fighting with a teammate Mallet = MIP, public intox, and fighting with a teammate I'm sure there are other reasons why Battle got the boot, but on the surface, it would appear that Mallet is getting different treatment for similar problems. |

You're an idiot | #28 | ||

A - He's listed on your teams official site as 5'11 222.
B - You just make a rant about calling Battle a "solid" player and then you make the jump to calling a white HS kid "excellent" just because he's got 3 more inches of height. Dude runs a 4.64 40 and is white. Only got lower tier Big 12 offers. No other SEC offers. I would hold off calling him excellent until, you know, he actually plays a down of college football. C - My God you suck at this. I mean wasn't that consecutive posts that you did that? At least go back and read what you wrote and realize...hey if he's not solid, better not call dude excellent. D - What were those QB ratings again? |

Maybe he has a bad attitude because... | #31
|
he realizes what a shitty coach Petrino is.
Ever considered that?

What you fail to realize is that.. | #32
|
you cannot rationally call Battle a "solid" player and call a HS kid who hasn't played a down of college ball an "excellent" player,
based solely off of his height, weight, and what he did in HS.
Your a dubmass.

How do you know that he was a solid player? | #33
|
So he is a solid player but only b/c you say so...and no non-Arkie fan can describe him as solid b/c they didn't see every practice and/or game...But he is solid but not b/c an OM fan said he was...but he is solid, right? He only made 5 tackles but he did play alot for Arkie and Petrino last year, so you must be careful with your words, right...Solid or not solid, that is the question... |

He may end up as a good player | #34
|
but calling a player excellent before he steps on campus is stupid. If he really was excellent, how did Texas, Texas A & M, or Texas Tech not offer
him? It's rare an excellent player is not offered by any of the 3 major in state schools. That doesn't mean he isn't going to be good, it just
means that it's probably naive to think he is already excellent.

He was an exellent HIGH SCHOOL player in a large classification in Texas, and has great measureables. That means he should HOPEFULLY be a solid SEC player.
Better? Because most people would have inferred that's what I meant, instead of twisting it to the n'th degree just to prove a big, bad Nutt-hater wrong. |

He played a lot on special teams, barely ever played on defense.
And I say he's solid because I read coaches' quotes and practice reports. I assume the average Ole Miss fan doesn't read all that about the Hog football team. Maybe I'm wrong, and Ole Miss fans are actually really worried that Petrino is going to be a success, that Nutt really is what we say he is, and as such read every last thing about Hog football hoping to be proven wrong. If that's the case, I shouldn't have harped on him for saying he "remembered him being a solid player." Because he certainly didn't remember it from watching him. |

But the OM fan was correct... | #37
|
..In describing him as being solid, right? So he was solid. Maybe lucky but the above OM fan was correct, is this correct? Solid, correct?

Yes. He's solid.
But there is no way he remembered him being solid. That was my whole point. In the same paragraph I acknowledged that. |

I'd be poor as fuck. But damn those measurables are fucking awesome. Or are they excellent? Or solid. God you are horrible at arguing. Oh so you meant
he was an excellent HS player? Oh ok. Isn't anybody that plays D1 football? God you suck. What are those QB ratings again?
