What is your personal best sports achievement in your life? Mine would have to be 13 year old AAU regional baseball tournament I threw a complete game shutout
(7 innings) on fifty something pitches allowing only 1 hit. I had a curve before most people. It wasn't so pretty in highschool when I had only an 80mph
fastball.

8th grade football: Intercepted Handoff? | #21
|
don't really know what you'd call it. Playing D-tackle against Water Valley. Offense ran a trap, my guard shot to the linebacker, pulling guard missed
me (or I pulled a superman juke-move and planted his ass, whatever, that's how I remember it) I got to the QB just as he was handing it off to the RB.
Ended up between them somehow and the QB basically handed me the ball. I'd like to say I ran it back, but I was so stunned that the ball was actually in my
hands that I hesitated for a split second while I thought about what the hell to do with it (football...what's a football?) and the aforementioned pulling
guard regained his composure and tackled me.

Hole in hole when I was 14 | #22
|
It was probably the tenth round of golf that I ever played. My dad, who was the local club's first champion back in 1970 something, had never hit one.
After I picked up my ball, he joked that this was the last round that he was ever going to play with me.
I won a high school tournament my senior year, but the hole in one is still my favorite. |

Sometimes the best stories aren't the champion moments. | #25

Once I intentionally took out a soccer goalie going up for the ball and that somehow started a fight that cleared both benches and the referee ended the game
early. The other team's coach made all of their players and parents stay on the sidelines until we got in our cars and left.
I once said something to this guy's face that had him personally threatening me down the line of scrimmage before a handful of plays. He was so mad, he started taking me out instead of going for the ball. We ran the ball right around him multiple times. |

Last week, went bull, double bull, triple 20 in one throw in darts.
Amazing how most of the greatest sports achievements that are mentioned come from when we were kids.

Woosaa stole the ball at around half court and ran down the court for an easy layup. I caught up to him on his right side as he was trying to do a right
handed layup on the left side of the goal. I got my hand on top of the ball right after he had left the ground and shoved him down so that he ended up flat on
his back with the ball bouncing off his head and going out of bounds. It's been a while since I made fun of him, so suck it Woosaa.

Went head-to-head with Charles Stackhouse in an intramural basketball game and outscored him. However, I should probably mention his best basketball skill was
being 50 lbs. bigger than everyone else. And I should also mention that I turned the ball over with about a minute to go, which was the start of an epic
collapse in which we blew a 6 or 7 point lead in that final minute and lost on a tip-in at the buzzer.

Junior year against a crappy 3a team I had 14 tackles, 4 sacks, other tackles for loss a forced fumble and a pass deflection as a DE. Only game I even came
close to those numbers.

I hurt my back coming up the steps at work earlier... | #38

But the last football game, my senior year in high, I had one interception, 9 solo tackles, one blocked punt (I also got a concussion on that play) and nearly
ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Also my senior year I knocked the shit out of Josh Reed (who went on to LSU and later the Bills) in a game. Granted, it was 40 yards down field and he was cutting back and may have lost his footing a little, but I decleated him. He stood up, patted me on the head and said, "Good hit little man." My dad working the chains and heard the whole thing...he still gives me shit about that. Also, Reed ran for like 350 yards in 3 quarters that night. And yes, we lost. I've never even seen a no hitter at any level, including little league, so while some of you may make light of the little league stories, color me impressed. Your Signature ...

Sinking three 3-point shots in a row in a Jr. High Basketball game....technically, we did not have 3 point shots back in those days but it would have been a 3
pointer had we had them. Also, beating my husband in golf the first time I ever touched a club.....mind you, we were both horrible, but I won. I haven't
played golf since, I decided to hang on to my bragging rights.
ETA: I was going to mention some Cheerleading achievements but assumed that the shit would pile on for calling Cheerleading a sport and that would piss me off. It is a sport. For real.

17 goals in 12 games in U16 soccer | #40
|
greatest single moment would have been the second of two goals I scored in the first 60 seconds of the first game of the all star season later that year. The
whole fucking team spent the rest of the game trying to set me up for a third goal to secure the hat trick, but I missed about 10 wide open shots in the
remaining 79 minutes of the game, including a PK that I shanked about 5 yards to the right. (As a side note, I never hit a fucking PK in my life. Earlier in
that year, I was the one guy who wasn't included in either of the first 2 groups for a shootout despite being the team's second leading scorer.)
