Bored Topic: Nafoomers Greatest Sports Achievement? |

What is your personal best sports achievement in your life? Mine would have to be 13 year old AAU regional baseball tournament I threw a complete game shutout
(7 innings) on fifty something pitches allowing only 1 hit. I had a curve before most people. It wasn't so pretty in highschool when I had only an 80mph
fastball.

I married my wife | #62 | |||||||
|
She was all-state Tennis and Basketball. Both her dad and grandfather played professional baseball, and she bore me a left-handed son. As far as I go, played
against several Rebs: Romaro, Rufus, Joe Gunn, LP Spence, B Brown who I actually chased down from behind on a play (don't ask me how I did it) and I had a
few small school baseball offers but I fucked up my ankle prior to my senior year.

They only let us pitch 3 innings at a time in the tourney.
I had a nasty slurve for an 11 year old. I could throw it at a kid's head and have it break back over the outside corner. I actually had a couple kids bail out of the box on me and strikeout. Too bad everybody else started growing then and I decided to wait until 8th-10th grade to be 6'3".

Jevan struck out in softball? | #66

Did y'all start with a 2-2 count or something?
I think I've only seen one other person ever strike out in softball...and he had zero athletic ability whatsoever.

We started with a 1-1count. He fouled a 2-1 pitch (lob) off then tipped the 2-2 pitch into the catchers glove.

My first Intramural basketball game as a Junior at Ole Miss. I was 1 for 5 with 4 turnovers in the first 10 minutes when the player coach sat me down. I
figured I was done for the night so I dropped a hit of Blue Cheer blotter. When my roommate, who had dropped his hit about 20 minutes before the game, threw up
and started screaming, I got put back in. I was 11 for 13 in the second half of the game and apparently went 8 for 8 from the line. I don't remember any of
it, but the team took me to Abbey's after the game and poured a bunch of beer down me and told me the story about the night I "went off" for
weeks after.
If it wasn't that, then it was nailing the reigning Miss Vicksburg in a golf cart on the back nine of the Vicksburg Country Club while playing 27 holes with her father and brother.

1993 SCAC Tennis Tournament | #70
|
Doesn't really matter that we didn't win - just that I made it. Checked out of 201 Poplar the morning after the team left and caught a flight to San
Antonio. Played singles and doubles for 3 matches after spending 20 hours in the clink. Lost to Sewannee in the semis.

It was our homecoming game and I started at LB for a .500 football team in Maryland. I was given the honor of covering David Jones (former LSU TE) for the entire game. Fully expecting to get torched the entire game I was pretty satisfied with holding him to 3 catches for 13 yards despite was seemed like a barrage of passes his way. I felt even better about it when I saw him in the SEC championship game a couple years later. Not bad for a slow 5'7'' white guy.

All-District in soccer & tennis. Recovered a fumble against Horn Lake on my first ever play in football (my football pinnacle). Later in life, I completed
an Olympic distance tri. It's hard to pick one over the others.
"There are three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who has the same first name as a city; and never get involved with a woman with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, and everything else is cream cheese." - Coach Bobby Finstock "When we get CWS banners that reference teams that used aluminum bats, it'll be really spiffy." - Rebheaded Stranger |

We lost 6-1. Number two would be hitting the winning basket in 7th grade against Prep in a battle of the unbeatens. |
