The reason no one talked shit about Biden is because he kept his damn mouth shut and let the cult of personality handle the talking.
Palin got roughed up because she made herself an easy ass target. Part of that is McCain's fault for picking her. If McCain would have picked Romney as a running mate and then emphasized to America that he was running against Obama/Pelosi and not Obama/Biden, he would have had a decent chance.

I would most certainly have voted for Clinton over John McCain...he was much more fiscally conservative. As it is, I never voted for either of them. I did love
the fuck out of Reagan and feel absolutely no need to apologize for it or be ashamed of it. I'm pro choice, do not give a shit whether a gay person wants
to get married or not, and think that people who toe the party line are blind motherfucking sheep. Having said that, government control over the American
people is going to be the destruction of this country.....and the Democratic party sir, is all about some government control.
ETA: And yes, I voted for Bush twice because I sure as fuck wasn't going to vote for Gore or Kerry. I felt I would be wasting my vote to do otherwise......I decided this year that I would vote my conscience and everything else be damned.

The truth of the matter is Conservatives and Liberals alike have both drifted more and more toward gov't control over the last few decades. They have also
both drifted towards the left fiscally. My God, JFK was probably more Conservative than McCain or either Bush. It sure as hell is not a stretch though to say
that Liberals as a whole are more for the government becoming involved in every facet of our lives than Conservatives are as a whole.

It's okay if you like Palin. I don't identify with her, but then again I'm not a middle-class mother. You certainly don't have to apologize for it and I'm not judging you for doing so. I live in Mississippi, too and I know that's how the majority of people here feel. I'm just pointing out that the Republican Party, instead of solidifying, is splintering like the Democrats/Dixiecrats of the 40's. She's a political liability and should be treated as such. She should've been blasted by both sides of the political spectrum. I know if she were the face of the Democratic Party, I'd be just as adamant that she be removed.
