I don't think I've been there since high school, but going this weekend. How are the strip clubs? Golf courses to recommend? Best bars for women?
And most importantly, the restaurants......

I loathe PCB, however, there is a really good restaurant there called Captain Anderson's. That is all I can recommend other than leaving the area as soon
as you eat there.

Stay out of the Sun Glo Motel. | #4

And if you forget and go anyway, the bloody sheets, cash only payment, one phone (in the lobby), or guys in the room next door shooting up with the door open
should be a clue that it is not worth the cheap nightly rate.

Nasty is all around Panama City. Buy some cheap beer, drink up and enjoy the fun. Oh yeah, I'd start taking some antibiotics a day or two before you go.
Have a nice trip

still cheesy, but some good eats.
Anderson's, as stated above, is the shit. Can't be beat. Get the Grill Bay Shrimp as an appetizer. There's a bar/restaurant very close to Anderson's called Boatyard...it's got a great bar and a great BLT (Bacon Lobster and Tomato) It's open air and right on the water...the best/nicest place to drink near the beach. For Sushi, go to Pompano's - they also have great steak and seafood. In downtown PC you have to visit Uncle Ernie's...They've got a great selection of beers and good steaks/seafood. Their beer is made by Sweetwater and I think they get a few specialty beers as well. (they rename them). Those are 4 places I would not miss in PCB. More from Tripadvisor. Edited to add a few cheezy/typical places in PCB: Shuck'ems for raw oysters and beer and Pineapple Willy's for cheap wet ribs and beer. How do I know so much about the Redneck Riviera? My wife's family goes there a week every year because that's where her dad grew up going and he like Captain Anderson's so much. This year, I discreetly found us a house "a little further down the beach" toward Destin in the South Walton area...Gotta stay classy.

Always, always wear some sort of footwear on the beach.
If you don't believe me, the broken shards of glass, bottlecaps, syringe needles, and mangled aluminum will quickly convince you otherwise.

These condos are in a pretty nice area down there, so I'm told..... | #12

so that may not be a problem. Appears like it may be worth the time to drive to Destin every night.

Only thing I know about PCB | #14
|
It's been at least ten years, but there used to be a breakfast place that had a bar and served pancakes that hung off the edges of the plate. They served
your eggs and bacon on top of the pancake.
There's a really shitty strip joint called "The Toy Box". Only thing I remember about it was my roommates dad gave us all a handful of cash, one of the strippers told me she was going to college to become a "physical therapist" and we ended up getting kicked out for some reason. Other than that, it's my least favorite place on the entire Gulf Coast. ![]()

If you haven't been to Panama City recently, I think you might be surprised. "Mom and Pop" motels are pretty much gone. Panama City Beach kind of
looks like Destin/Sandestin now, although it still gets attracts the trash during Spring Break. Now is a good time to be here as the traffic and lines at
restaurants are not too bad.
Some of the better restaurants have been mentioned such as Capt. Andersons and Boatyard. Saltwater Grill is good as well as The Boars Head. Over the bridge, Uncle Ernies is very good and a good time on the water. Near Uncle Ernies is Hunt's Oyster Bar, which is a "dive", but those are usually the best places to go for oysters. Billys -on-the -Beach has good oysters on the PCB side. For a simple burger, go to Spinnakers next to LaVela. Pier Park has opened (connects Front and Back Beach rds. just east of Hwy 79). Hoffbrau is usually good time and there are many other eateries there as well. Margaritaville is horrible as you might expect. Pier Park is like Destin Commons on roids. Bigger and IMO better, although not all the shops are completely finished. Golfing- Camp Creek (Fazio) and Sharkstooth (Norman) are great, but private. If you want a challenge, Windswept Dunes on Hwy 20 plays about 7800 yds. In town, Bay Point is good. Signal Hill is in the middle of PCB. My favorite in PCB, is Hombre. 27 holes and hosts a Q-School tourney every year. Strip clubs-forget it, unless you like pale, exploited Euros "with the body of a Boy Scout" or some 30-35 yr old "washed-up" skank. Hope this helps you out. |

G.A.Y., you'd think PCB was some kind of Mini-Memphis.
A two hour round trip to destin is a pain in the ass, but it might be worth it to see some attractive, disease-free women.
