Posts: 2584 May 8, 2008 2:41 PM GIVER OF HAMS	Tags : None Sadly I have to start planning now which games I want to go to this fall because my job entails planning business trips this far out. What's the consensus on "shitty" home games versus "good" home games, being defined as "shitty" Samford and ULM versus "good" Auburn and South Carolina? I'm starting to think "shitty" is the real "good" - If I go to Samford versus Auburn, the Rebs would win (in theory), the Grove is less crowded, the bars are less crowded, the game itself goes quicker and with less stress (again, this is wishful thinking), and you can go back to watching other games on TV in The Grove afterwards. I only attended two home games last year - losses to Arkansas and LSU - and I'd just assume not dealing with that until we're formidable again (for the third time... wishful thinking). That being said, I am going to Baton Rouge in November.

I'd rank our home games like this (1 being the best to attend and 7 being the worst) 1. Auburn 2. State 3. South Carolina 4. Vanderbilt 5. Memphis 6. Samford 7. Bars and town won't be too too bad. South Carolina will be much the same (slightly bigger on all accounts). JP games are usually reserved for games between decent teams and awful SEC teams. Usually we were the decent team draw, while Vandy was the awful team draw. When we joined them as an awful team, we fell below JP status. That's bad. I'd love for us to get back to the decent team level right now.

Posts: 449 May 8, 2008 5:09 PM	I haven't renewed my season tickets just yet, and looking at the dismal lineup, I may not. After all, this are tough economic times. Missouri, Florida, Bama and Arksansas at home last year were marquis games. This year, not so much. From the Jackson area, I can travel to Tuscaloosa and Baton Rouge about as easy as Oxford, and frankly would rather go there than attend a NW-La-Sam whatever game in Oxford. So I may alocate the funds for season tickets to attend a few away games. We usually show up at those venues. I'm working on one conference away game each year at a stadium that I've never been to so I can complete the SEC circuit. Last year was Athens, this year Fayetteville.

La.-Monroe (too late in the season for a game like this. Hopefully, it will never be as bad as NW State last year, but even if we were in the top 25 at this point in the year, we'd be lucky to get 50,000 in the stadium for this game)
