I knew Ticketmaster was high, but it still seems like it would be cheaper to just buy Olympics tickets than to tunnel in.

They're putting all the power lines and shit underground. | #5

Gotta spruce things up for the debate. In fairness, though, I believe it was planned before the debate was announced.
In this photo: 3 Navy Pilots, 3 Marine Corps ground officers, 1 Naval Flight Officer, 1 Marine Flight Officer, 1 Nuclear Submarine Officer, 1 Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal Officer, 1 former East Carolina linebacker, 1 Navy SEAL, and DuNing. |

Actually, the power lines and shit are secondary | #6
|
They are replacing the sewer line that runs down University. The city would like to bury all the utilities along there, but the phone company is holding out
and not wanting to move their lines. The city may go ahead and place the power lines underground, but chances are they'll wait until phone and cable go
along as well.
The city is also considering putting University on a "road diet." Their plan is to cut University down from four lanes to two lanes with a turning lane in the middle. They would also put in bike lanes along the sides. This would be from Lamar to Bramlett. |

First of all their customer service in Oxford is shitty. Secondly, they've needed to bury those lines for years. It will look much better when they finish.

Not all lines getting bured, I've heard | #8
|
Power is going in, but non-state entities, such as cable, phone, et. al are balking at the costs. They've refused to bury unless the city foots the bill.
Apparently Oxford has been waiting for phone lines to be buried on Jackson for a while, despite having power buried, but the phone company keeps balking.
Bellsouth, in all likelihood, is still going to be a little bitch and will continue to have above-ground and crappy service. |
