Do any of you really get into St. Patricks day?
The intro to OP's humblebrag thread got me thinking, is St. Patrick's day really that big of a deal? I don't remember it being a big deal in college as it was typically during spring break. I think think I went back home to the coast once for the parade/parties and maybe a house party or two in Oxford.
Post college, I went down to see friends in Jackson once for the Hal and Mal's/Sweet Potato Queen festivities, which I enjoyed. Nashville had a pretty small parade the first couple of years that I lived here and there always seems to be some kind of bar crawl, but nothing I would get excited about--more of something I would avoid.
As drinking holidays go, I rate it a meh, but maybe i'd feel differently about it if I lived in Boston, Chicago, or Savannah.
