Alabama has set the bar with the crazy shit salary they are paying Saban (although he's earned it this year).
I guess they'll go after a proven guy like Butch Davis at UNC, Mike Leach, or Petersen at Boise (but he's a scientologist.. oh noes). Tubbs maybe? They want to make a big splash, so I doubt they go after an assistant. But if they did, the Texas DC would probably be a good bet. |

They have a strong good ole boy network there. The few UT fans I've talked to regarding the possibility of Fulmer getting axed have looked at me very strangely when I laugh at the prospect of Cutcliffe being hired. They think he's an obvious and good choice. The fans LOVE Cutcliffe. I guess there could be something to the idea that he wouldn't take it after his friend was fired. |

HOWEVER, I always said during Cut's era here that he was trying to use Ole Miss talent to run Tennessee schemes that only work with stellar talent.

I got the impression that Majors felt that Fulmer stabbed him in the back. I doubt seriously that Fulmer would feel that way if Cut took that job. He'd
probably even be happy for him. There was a time where it seemed he was being groomed to do just that, anyway.
