If they think they are getting petersen they are insane. That guy could go anywhere in the country and he will pick State? WOW
He also said he will never go to Oxford because, "Mary Ann fears for my safety. I've still got a bullet hole in my Tahoe..." Gene Swindoll

Please show me where people on here were seriously saying that kind of stuff a year ago. Retarded optimism is reserved for rivals and scout message boards.
That is why I read here and six pack.
Chris Wallace: "They say that Shepard Smith is like a landmark there (Oxford). It's Eli Manning and Shepard Smith."
Shepard Smith: "Yea. There's a statue to me right there at the end of the bar." |

If i remember right, we did not have much time to speculate because of the way everything went down. Nice try though.

There's good reason to think he would go | #4

He's got a connection with Bryne, more money and it is the SEC.

There was time to speculate after Coach O was fired. It might have been only a couple of days, but I'm quite sure that we weren't as unrealistic.

Also count in the Cut firing. This place had some wild predictions. Nice try though.

We had another fairly recent coaching search, if memory serves... | #8
|
Where we thought a number of out-of-our league coaches were viable candidates.
Also, and I may be wrong here, but I think we ended up with a D-line coach who was mildly retarded.

Pete Carroll could go anywhere, so could Bob Stoops, so Could Urban Meyer, so could Nick Saban. My point is if Peterson can go anywhere, which in all
likelihood he could, why would he choose State. If he is even considering leaving BSU, it would only be for a high profile job.
Secondly, look at what his predecessor, Dan Hawkins, has done at CU. They're not exactly rewriting the record books, and he is the one responsible for putting BSU on the map.

Seriously shut the fuck up. We are less than 6 hours removed | #10

from finding out that our incompetent head coach is gone. Every fan base does this including your own. The last two times yall have had coaching changes
ridiculous, off the wall, never going to happen names have been thrown around. This is just how college football works in the south. Every school thinks that
they are better than they are and will get the best head coach available. It did not bother me when yall were throwing around names that all State fans knew
you were not going to get. You have now ended up with a very competent head coach who will give yall sustainable success. I suspect most MSU fans realistically
expect the same thing. Get off your fucking high horse you dipshit

Nice username, with the name Croom I would expect more class. | #11

I seem to recall Dennis Erickson being at the forefront. Petrino might have been mentioned. Either way, I'll stop commenting because the best way to let
things of this nature play out is to watch y'all get repeatedly turned down by coach after coach.
Maybe y'all can get rid of Rick at the end of the year to complete the tri-fecta of coaching searches.

You should probably stop commenting because you have no clue what your talking about. And Im sure we will get turned down by plenty of coaches, in fact I hope
so because that will mean that our AD is being aggressive and trying to do his absolute best for our program. And if your looking for class I suggest trying
one of the following: Gene's Page, Ole Miss Spirit, Rivals. Again I say, shut the fuck up.

In all seriousness, Dan Mullen would be somebody to strongly consider.

Yea, when Cut left, there were a few wild ass names like Petrino (damn that would have been a fuck up) and Erickson (damn near happened). When O was shit
canned, we tossed around a few names and ended up with Nutt who was a better option than any of the names tossed around.
You guys may end up with Barr F Bryant for all I care. Bottom line is this, your AD and program bent to the PC gods and made a shitty hire 5 years ago. It culminated in a 45-0 prison style anal raping the like of which the SEC hasnt seen in a long time. No matter who you hire, you have a ways to go to see the top of the respectability mountain. |

Dennis Erikson, Rick Neuhasel, Butch Davis. Looking at their present situations we were lucky none of them came here although Butch Davis could still be a good
hire.

lasted all of two days. I don't remember who our outrageous candidates were. I remember RN, but he was legitmately interested in us. Other than him, who
were the "long shot" candidates?

What are you trying to argue about? No one is denying that we made a stupid hire last time | #18
|
LT made the worst hire the SEC had seen in years. He did it solely because he was black and to get the NCAA off out back. Yall just butt fucked us on regional
TV...again no argument there. We absolutely have a long ways to go to get back to respectability...no argument there. So again I ask what you are trying to
prove? The sole point of my original post is that every time an SEC (or for that matter a D-I) school makes a coaching search, a lot of the fans think they can
land people who arent legitimately interested in the job. Yall did it with RN, DE, and BP. And it doesnt give your argument any validity to say as Brewer said
"I remember ____, but he was legitimately interested in us" because I could say the same thing about any of our off the wall candidates and you cant
prove me wrong (the beauty of the internet persona). All you can do is show the results, for yall that was Ed O and Nutt. For us that is yet to be determined.

"LT made the worst hire the SEC had seen in years." Curly Hallman, Ed Orgeron, Jerry Dinardo, Mike Price, Dennis Francione, Mike Shula, Ray Goff, and
Hal Mumme would like a word with you.

You really dont think Croom was as bad of a hire as half those guys? | #20
|
Look at the talent yall have this year. At least O did one thing somewhat well and that was get talent to your program. Nutt has found a way to maximize that
talent. Price was not a horrible coach, he just like titties and ass in his face. Croom has not only left our program void of talent (see all 3 of our
QB's) but he was also a horrible coach. In my opinion Croom ranks on par if not worse than all those guys you mentioned.
