I really hate to do this, but Sixpack is annointing Mullen as the sole reason for the victory. |

Tebow and Harvin are a mere afterthoughts. As best I can tell, Mullen will be able to walk into the current talent warehouse at the Junction and be able to
piece together a trip to Atlanta.

I still don't see that. Especially not enough to claim that the sixpack as a whole is saying that.

Everything I've read.... | #24

....talks about how Mullen and Meyer basically developed that offense together at Bowling Green, Utah, and then Florida. It's certainly not Mullen's
offense, but he is well versed enough in it to understand it and install it somewhere else.

All coaches have to be promoted at some point. And good job noticing that Florida won with their defense last night. Guess what, they were playing the #1 team
in the country. What about all the other games where their offense lit up the field? Bowling Green? Utah?
Give me a break. If you would even just be objective with a slight Rebel spin, you'd be OK. But your completely off the deep end.

While not each and every poster has specifically taken the position as I articulated it, enough of the masses are speculating that Mullen is the primum movens
of offensive success that the generalization is warranted. Even accounting for the sheeplike a posteriori reasoning that most fans display, there is little in
the way of rational discourse about this. From thread to thread there are declarations such as "This is the offense that you will see at MSU next
year!" (I guess this is technically correct, since they host Florida next year.) While there are certainly legitimate ponderables such as "How will
Mullen use this or that player?" there is precious little in the way of pointing out that the difference in athletes between MSU and Florida will have an
impact.
Secondly, I resent your bullshit call. While I have been provocative on SixPack, I generally behave myself over there. I have not posted any such claim on their site, because aside from the few cretins that name-call me and toss third grade insults my way, they are generally civil to me. This, I thought, is an Ole Miss site dedicated to hyperbolic trashing of opponents, rivals, and fools. Likewise, over the 18 or so months that I have been a resident of this mutant electronic community, I grown to understand that my role is to be an asshole among assholes, dispensing both inflammatory wisdom and condescending observations. The particular post in question seemed to fulfill all of these requirements. Finally, if you had time to "read the whole board" I salute your slackery.

Interesting.. I realize you are backpedaling a little from the "anointing Mullen as the sole reason for
victory" statement but I'll attempt to defend what few posts there actually were that did go overboard with
the Mullen stuff (and I wasn't one of them posting)...
If you watched the game you heard no less than 10-12 mentions of "Great play call by Dan Mullen", "Good game plan by Mullen", etc.... And the ESPN postgame show talked in depth about Mullen, the game-plan and the calls throughout the game. Corso even said that Meyer told him he never doubted letting Mullen call the game even with the distractions he's had lately. So if you put yourself in the shoes of a football program that just hired this guy that got plenty of props I think you would see simliar reaction at 100% of the schools out there, especially if your only view is from a Internet Messageboard and they are typically already over the top. Maybe Mullen works out for MSU and these posters are right (like how this board said Snead would be a difference maker) or maybe it won't work out (like how this board said Schaffer would be a difference maker) and later you you'll say you told them so. I think some of your fellow Rebels have already pointed out the claims to Cutt's responsibility for the UT title and we all remember how Coach O's defensive line and recruiting won titles for USC.... |

My point was that there is a difference between being on an Ole Miss board and making fun of | #34

a Dawg and going to SixPack and making fun of a Dawg.
I get my jabs in over there and can be a bit pissy from time to time, but for the most part I try to respect their house and not be a completely outrageous troll. It is in my job description here.

The discussion was about last night's game, not about the season. Anyone suggesting that Mullen was the primary reason for Florida's win last night is
way out on a limb. That win in particular was on their defense. Their offense was great all year. I still don't necessarily buy that you can attribute that
all to Mullen, but they did have a great offense this year. And yes I still think it's Urban Meyer's offense, which is evidenced by the fact that he
promoted an OL coach to OC rather than going out and hiring an experienced OC as Mullen's replacement.

Personally, I thought UF's playcalling was suspect at best for most of the game | #36
|
I have no idea why it took so long to start moving tebow around. The first half he kept dropping straight back, which was just not good. But I don't
know if that was even Mullen, that could have come from Meyer. Hell, maybe it's just watching our playcalling all year, because even when Tebow split out
wide, that just seemed like a normal play.
