Because MSU won't have a qb that can run it.
But he may 'force' this offense on their personnel anyway. (good luck with that)
Clear eyes could see this one coming from a mile away.

Every coach has his system.
Every good coach can match his players to a variation of his system. Geez all you Rebs are trying so hard to tell MSU folks that Mullen has never coached a game, we can't assume he will be any good, etc. Well that works both ways. Now you're trying to tell us that you CAN assume that he will bad? Are you telling me that because he coached at Florida that he has no chance of success at MSU? Fucking idiots.

He absolutely can succeed. | #6 | ||

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see him fail. And I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see him do well. It's the toughest conference
in America and he's new to coaching, so the deck is stacked against him. But it's been done before and he could very well succeed.

I'm sure even you recognize that there are serious gaps in talent at MSU right now, similar to what OM had in 2004. While Mullen is certainly smart enough
to adapt somewhat, coaches are loathe to make wholesale philosophical changes. See: Rich Rodriguez at Michigan. If he gets the talent in there, I'm sure
he'll do ok.
I knew when I ran into Greg Byrne in the club level and he was carrying chairs from one side to the other that this guy would be good.

They would give anything to have lost three times in the SEC championship game and to have averaged 8 wins a season. yes, this was actually posted on hogville. |

I don't care what system he runs, with the shit talent on that team they will suck donkey dick next year.
If he was smart he would immediately start managing the fans' expectations. The goal for him next year should be to be competitive in every game, not get blown out, and develop some younger players for the future. |

way of posting phrases like "off the record" and discussing how much inside info you have (when in fact 99% of anything you've ever posted can
either be found on a newspaper website or from the keyboards of somebody like Yancy) is putting you in the running for shittiest message board poster ever.
Dude, he basically said that he would tweak his offense to fit his personnel the day he was hired. That's not a new concept. And I don't think
it's "off the record" either that he has said many times that there is only one Tim Tebow. They won a national championship with Chris Leak who
is similar to Russell. It's not that hard.

againt tOSU than Leak. One running and one passing. Tebow was very instrumental as a freshman in kick-starting the offense that year when Leak sputtered.
Tebow made Leak better. You have no such animals at MSU. Also, I am in no way implying that Mullen will not be successful at MSU but he needs much much more
than Tyler Russell to make it happen.
My compadre also may have heard from his reasonable Bulldog friends what I have: Mullen is telling folks that after watching film he sees that MSU has less talent than he first thought and he will have to alter the offense moreso than he imagined. The "offense to fit personnel" deal was initially a shot at Croom and nothing else at the time. |
