So I want to buy a blu-ray player. My only real concern is that it has the ethernet port so that I can finally get on Netflix online. I searched Nafoom, and
the only real blu-ray advice was to get a Samsung 2550. However, I saw the Samsung 350 which seems to have the same stuff but it's less expensive. Is there
an even better deal out there? Most electronic shit is greek to me...so any advice? OP4, isn't this your area of expertise? (As a side note, I already have
the bigscreen, Samsung LCD, if that makes any difference at all.) Thanks in advance.

last month when I spent about three hours at Best Buy and Paul's Big Screens making them switch back and forth between Blu-Ray and an upscaling DVD.
Here's what I finally figured out.
If you have a full commando big screen unit buy the Blu-Ray. Full Commando means Plasma, OVER 52 inches, top of the line home theater system, and the top end model, not their door buster. There IS a difference between that $900 42" Panasonic and its $2000 42" cousin. Otherwise wait until June or July when you'll be able to get one from Craigslist for $100.

I went with a PS3...blu-ray player plus the added bonus of wasting my life playing the likes of GTA and Call of Duty.

u don't need blue ray unless you've got 1080p. u can rent or buy all the stuff u want on apple in hd for appro $5 rent or $15 to buy which is a lot
cheaper than buying a blue ray dvd. all you need are broadband and a wireless network. oh, and an itunes acct w/ a credit card.

Paired with the Samsung 860 52" LCD (the thinnest made LCD at 1.9" thick), the Samsung 2550 Blu-Ray is ridiculous! The picture is just sick. One
friend has the 550 Samsung 52" LCD, but the 860 is much sharper and the 860 has the blue Touch of Color border instead of that annoying red. I'm never
buying a TV in store again. The 860 retails for $3400. I got it for $2500 after shipping on Amazon.com. The Samsung 2550 Blu-Ray retails for $500 but you can
get it at Best Buy for $350 (not sure why). However, there is a nationwide backorder for the 2550, so I just got my new-in-box on Ebay for $340.
