Foresight was not my strong suit the first time around, and I was as myopic as Sammy Davis, Jr as far as career goals were concerned. As a result, I have a relatively worthless degree unless I decide that law school is the direction I want to go, or could stomach moving to Washington, D.C. I've been accepted to two law schools, but the impending doom I felt 4 1/2 years ago has resurfaced with a vengeance. Plus, I really don't want to cough up nearly $120k to go to law school, only to to be clerking for $45k a year when I get out because I lack political connections/the will to be first in my class. I've thought about getting a master's in political science, but I think that would equate to a polishing a turd. ----------------- Shameful self-promotion: Now Updated!

To be honest, knowing what I know now.....I'd probably major in what I always wanted to do....which is teach and coach. I didn't do that due to money.....but I've realized in my old age that you only live once and should do whatever makes you happy.

I have two years before the ol' lady is out of pharm school and roughly that amount of time to finish a grad program or get another BA/BS that would lead to something that would pay relatively well and would be stable. Sales and all variants thereof can go fuck itself in the ear. I could do all the math in physics, but they had some core requirements I didn't want to take. But physics has always interested me. And anthropology mainly for the travel. What I do know is that I would not have been pre-med to work in business. That was a waste of hard as shit classes.

I read something the other day about making a difference in this world......people remembering you after you were gone. I realized, no one would remember me except my family. I need to change that, and am working toward doing that....regardless of the financial benefits. I figure it'll all work out and if it doesn't.....I'll adapt. Seriously.....if being an attorney is your dream, do it. Same for being a teacher, factory worker or whatever. Life is short---enjoy it.
