Just got a text from a buddy from the Library Sports Bar |

Apparently Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio is there and in town to scout Greg. Is this normal, especially in early May?

Considering Greg is still rehabbing his foot, he'd be wasting his time. | #1

I don't know about the scouting process, but I would think that if he was in town to scout, he'd probably be doing it more for the other players on the
team.

I'm always amazed when people spot celebs in Oxford. | #3
|
Well, I don't know if he counts as a celebrity, and I'm sure he was rocking a Jaguars shirts, but I somewhat regularly hear people talk about seeing
well-known people in town.
I never see them. I also never look for them.
Your favorite sports team scores a game tying point, you find a dollar in the street, you see someone you hate get their ass kicked in public, all of these blissful moments deserve, nay, demand the most communal of public displays of pleasure: The Landshark. |

Agree. I'm the least starstruck person in the world I think. | #6

One, I wouldn't want to be bothered if I was a known person. I remember playing at a $5 table next to Jim Mora about 8 years ago (day Peyton got married)
and even though I grew up the biggest Saints fan in the world (still am, pretty much) I barely said a word to him. The only acknowledgment I gave him was when
he asked me if he should double like an Ace-3 against a 5 I think it was, I said "I would, Coach."

The only celebrity I've actually made myself go talk to was | #10
|
Dale Earnhardt Jr. I had reservations because he gets mobbed all the time and I knew it would annoy him. I didn't want to pass up the chance to get him to
sign something though, so I acted like a dick and cornered him in victory lane after his Busch (as it was still called then) car he owned had won the race.

I have a cuz who writes for espn that said Dale Jr was the most surprising figure he has ever met. He was a member of the Green party, fav show was the British
Office but read more than watched tv...

I've asked for 2 autographs in my life. | #15
|
Mickey Rourke and Bubba Smith. Mickey was cool and actually chatted me up for a few minutes. Bubba was kind of a dick. I guess their moods had to do with the
situations. Mickey was in Platinum. Bubba was in a Holiday Inn Express checking in for a LensCrafters convention.

I don't blame him though. People wouldn't leave him alone if he didn't.

I feel partly responsible for Mr. Kelley | #18
|
He started hanging around the Blue Marlin in '02, and pestered everyone if he could play. Sure, what's the harm, millions of frat boys with acoustic
guitars maim James Taylor hits all the time.
He played three songs on a loop. "Amazing," a cover of TLC's "No Scrubs" and his idea of what "Superstition" should sound like. Three songs, on a loop. Over and over. And so it began. |

List of my top 10 favorite autographs ever: | #19
|
In no particular order:
1. DJ Mario 2. Kerry Collins 3. A guy who looked like he could be Willie Nelson's brother 4. Amy Smart 5. That one black guy from the Real World a long time ago. No, not him. The other one. 6. Remember that show "Joe Schmo"? Him. 7. Hootie's blow fish. 8. Jamo 9. Bob Barker 10. Stacey Keibler. (OK, not really. I just made out with a magazine picture of her once. Yesterday. But she was really into it.) Just missed the list: Lance Bass, Powe's mom, and Drew Snyder. |
