Has any athlete ever handled a situation better than Donte Stallworth? I hope he is a good guy and not just a product of a savvy agent. Point two texas has a
player named Tant. Name me some similarities. Shode, Kizz, Trabia, I guess Welch could be one for you internet porn peers of mine.

Three points about Stallworth: | #21
|
1. He was .126 so he was pretty lit and he can most definitely afford a taxi or car service (he was in a Bentley);
2. When he was questioned after the accident, he said he flicked his lights at the pedestrian; wtf? you couldn't have braked instead? 3. After he hit the guy, he stayed there and called 911 and waited for the cops. 4. He was doing 50 in a 40mph speed limit and the guy (i believe) was j walking at the time. His crime carried a potential 15 years in prison and he got one month.

The crime carried 15 years if he had been convicted | #22

He had not been convicted, and any prosecutor would have to look at the facts of this case and realize that there were some serious evidence which could lead
to reasonable doubt.
People often don't see how much intent plays into criminal law. We don't punish people for bad acts without a cupable mental state, or at least we didn't before MADD came along. |

You are wrong. There are many non-intent crimes.... | #23

in this country. Look at the MS felony murder statute. If you go into a bank to rob it and some old geezer has a heart attack = felony murder in MS (or has
this changed? it was that way when i was in law school). Speaking of which, i got a please donate to the new law school packet recently. It came w/ a free
sticker (car sticker i have to assume) in the shape of an oval that had the word "LAW" in big three inch letters w/ University of Mississippi
scrolled across the top in tiny 12 pt. font. Pretty fucking pretentious sticker. Look at me! I went to lawschool and i want you to know about it.

remember the guy who killed the girl on HWY 6 and got off? | #24

this is similar. Oh, and that guy was not a professional athlete, so that argument is out the window.

Here's a pic of McArthur Causeway | #25

It's a six-lane highway that links Miami Beach and Miami and it's busy. And if he was only going 50, then he was going probably going about ten MPH
less than most people who drive there. Miami traffic is fucked.

I'm a bit conflicted on this. | #26

On the one hand, I think he should've been punished much more. Regardless of what he thought or whether or not I've been guilty of drunk driving
myself, a man died. And when Man A dies due to the negligent actions of Man B, then Man B needs to pay dearly.
On the other hand, I feel a bit sorry for Stallworth. I made horrid decisions when I would drink. Shit that I would never ever do otherwise. I would think he may have learned his lesson and I'd hate for him to lose everything because of a huge mistake. Some of us, and some may not agree, are not built to handle alcohol. We just don't have it in us to mute the effects that it has on us like others do. I was the same way and I had to put it down completely. I hope, now that he has a second chance, he figures out what he can handle and what he can't. |
