Maybe i'm on a post-visit high like Nick Stephens or his recruting ilk, however what are some other "options" I should consider?

In what city would you live, if money, jobs and proximity to family were no factor? (Lower 48 only) |

After visiting San Diego this weekend, I'm pretty sure that La Jolla Shores, beachside would be a near the top of my list. 70 degrees pretty much year
round. Plenty of great food and other culture. Great schools and sports teams (loved going to Petco) Tons of outdoors stuff to do.

Something like Big Pine Key. Some island in the keys, but not Key West | #1
|
but close enough that I could drive easily for a night of fun.
San Diego also has a short drive to Lake Tahoe which would be cool for gambling and skiing. But the water is too damn cold. And I dig the keys. But the San Diego area would definitely be at the top of my list.

Interesting question..... | #2
|
I would have to say negative to any coastal state......love to visit the beach but wouldn't want to live there - hurricanes 'n shit......so, I'd
definitely have to go with a luxurious cabin in the mountains somewhere, not sure which city, state though as my mountain knowledge is limited to North
Georgia.....somewhere in Colorado maybe. I don't need a big city in close range.....just peace, quiet, scenery, and a beer store nearby.

cool in the summer.
And it's my pick. Your Signature ...

Somewhere near Jackson Hole, WY. Damn good food in town and BFE in the backyard. Beautiful country. As far as big cities go, I would go with Denver, CO for pretty much the same reasons. |

Ten miles from campus. Five minutes from Sardis boat ramps. Twenty baby steps from porch to 15 acre lake.
But, I'll be checking out Seattle area for next couple of weeks just because I can. Everytime I travel, tho, I just can't wait to get back to my woods. My friends say it's like Girl Scout camp with beer. I'm a happy, happy woman. Ode to Sunday Mowing

"By the 1980s my career had taken hold, and I was finally landing roles I once only dreamed of. My parents were aging, however, and I found myself spending more and more of my free time in Mississippi....Many of my friends were shocked that we were settling down in Mississippi. They would ask, "Why do you want to live in Mississippi?" Even many Mississippians asked it. "You can live anywhere in the world you want. Why Mississippi?" My response: "Because I can live anywhere I want." "I relish my life here; I wrap it about me like a cocoon. This is what I know, and this is what I love. We still have faults, but withal, I am damn proud to call Mississippi home."
I say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists
who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did'. Kurt Vonnegut, Timequake, 1997

In no order: Charleston, NOLA, Keys, Savannah, Nashville (luckily I already live here)
Chris Wallace: "They say that Shepard Smith is like a landmark there (Oxford). It's Eli Manning and Shepard Smith."
Shepard Smith: "Yea. There's a statue to me right there at the end of the bar." |

That pretty much sums up my feelings as well. I've traveled enough to appreciate other places, but after I'm gone a bit, I crave to return to this crazy, complicated, backward, humid, buggy place that I love. At eighteen I couldn't wait to get out of Mississippi, now, I live here despite knowing I could triple my salary just about anywhere else in the country. Everytime I step off that plane or drive over the state line, I give a big sigh of relief because I know I'm home. Ode to Sunday Mowing

100% NO to Oxford. I'm finding myself going there less and less aside for FB and BB games. Like on random weekends like we used to, really don't anymore. |

But, a sweet seven hour drive down Hwy 45 to I-10 and I've got a cold beer in hand and my feet in the Gulf! Besides when those big ole hurricanes blow in
from down there to Oxford, they're pretty well tired out and that's the way I like them.
