I wonder if you get Fulmer Cup points for assaulting your quarterback. | #1

Which is also like assaulting a woman in this case. |

I get the sarcasm, but he played a lot last year | #5

and would've been a big contributor this year. This one will hurt.

From what I remember - Guy was a solid player and this will hurt them. UPIG's D is not exactly loaded with experienced players.

H'ell probably wind up being the next in the ever growing line of SEC outcasts turned Memphis State Tigers. Evidently 3 decent players from Auburn were
"let go" and at least one of them has a chance of being a tiger.

I realize you are joking, but their idiots at our favorite | #8

message board are falling all over themselves praising Bobby Petrino for making the "right decision" and talking about how the prior staff would have
never done that.
I don't think these stupid fucks have looked at their linebacker depth chart lately. An already VERY thin weak defense just lost their 2nd string MLB. I'm sure they've convinced themselves that Mallett and Petrino will score so many points that they won't even have to play defense. |

That's why I'm glad to have Nutt. He appears to understand which side his bread is buttered on, so to speak. He knows that if his top players
aren't on the field, he won't win. I'll bet that John Jerry and Jevan Snead could get away with a ton this off-season simply because we can't
afford not to have them this fall.
Likewise, the rumor that Hornsby's status with the team could be dependent on Tig's academic status would further prove this theory. |

Come on, guys.... | #10 | ||
|
...do we really have to do this?
1) You guys harp on Petrino for recruiting "thugs," yet you run him down when he kicks a guy off the team for something that MIGHT have drawn a 1 game suspension from Dale. 2) And how in the hell could you remember him being a "solid player"? This guy made 5 tackles last year. You people just make up whatever you can to make yourselves feel better about your belief that Arkansas is going to suck now that the Savior has moved across the mighty muddy. Would it be nice to have his talent to provide more depth at linebacker? Sure. Is it going to kill us? NO. It just means Austin Moss, an excellent linebacker from Texas, will have to be ready to take a few snaps instead of redshirting. 3) I seriously, all flaming/trashtalking/douchbaggery aside, can't believe you like the fact that Nutt doles out discipline based on how good a player is. This stuck in a lot of our fans' throats, and really pissed them off. The joke was that if the starting QB got in trouble a 3rd string WR got kicked off the team. Petrino has kicked off a starting linebacker, two starting DL, and run off other "role" players since he has been here. It is a breath of fresh air to Arkansas fans to see a coach discipline even those that are very talented. I can't believe you guys are excited about possibly having Hornsby starting for you in the fall. And yes, I know Petrino offered him. I didn't like it at the time, and I still wish we wouldn't have gotten involved with the guy. However, you can bet if we would have signed him that he would already have been dismissed from the team for his latest incident. |

gahogfan wrote: Good luck with that. Also, star players will get more leeway at most schools. But I'm glad Arkansas is different in that respect. I really hope Petrino keeps kicking starters at positions of need off the team. Edited to ask: What are the chances that Darius Winston doesn't get cleared?

I applaud the move by Petrino.

What part of kicking off several star players is good for your program? I mean, I understand if it's Perriloux-esque stuff, but getting a DUI gets you
kicked off the team?
If my star player gets arrested twice for DUIs in the same season there is no way I'm letting him go anywhere but to community service, much less kicking him off the team. You're a dumbass for stating that its a breath of fresh air that Petrino is doling out punishment equally, no matter if they are a star. Oh, and btw...Petrino is still playing favorites just like Nutt. Wasn't Mallet arrested a while back for MIP and public drunk? And then he gets in a fight with Battle and breaks his hand? And he's allowed to stay on the team? How many more infractions and weightlifting sessions does he have to be late for or miss to get the same treatment as everybody else?

1) I guess I missed all of the OM fans calling Petrino's recruits "thugs". I have never once seen this happen.

Battle was also the guy that whupped Mallet in the weight room which I bet had more to do with it than anything.

Think back to Pack-gate. | #18
|
I was thinking back, and it was the 2006 season when Gary Pack, Quentin Taylor, Leron King, and 3 other players (can't remember them all) got caught
smoking weed by The Orgeron and later got kicked off the team.
If I recall, 2 of our top 4 LBs from that season were kicked off in that incident. Coupled with the graduation of Patrick Willis and the departure of Rory Johnson, we lost our top 4 LBs that played the majority of the snaps in the 2006 season. In 2007, we had freshmen and Juco transfers playing the majority of the snaps at LB and our defense suffered for it big time. Was it worth it for the discipline? Definitely not. It was that incident that made me change my opinion on discipline. Regularly kicking off players you need for minor offenses is not a good thing. If Snead knocks over a few banks next month, I want our lawyers to get him cleared in time for the Memphis game, and I want him suited up. |

No.... | #19 | ||
|
It's because Moss is built like an actual MLB is supposed to be built. 6'2'' and 215 pounds , with the build to add more weight to look like an
SEC MLB. Khiry Battle was 5'10'' 215 pounds, and that was after a year in a college weight program. He had talent, but he was always going to be
undersized, something Moss won't have to worry about.

Truly. Oh, and DWI > MIP, especially when you've already been arrested once and have the worst attitude on the team. |
