I laughed until I hurt the first time I saw that movie.
No Time for Sargeants and The Court Jester are two other old movies that are very funny. Edited because I was thinking of the wrong Danny Kaye movie.

recruiting Dex, I told them they'd better sign him or he'd come back to bite them in the ass. He bit them in the ass last fall."

It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad, World is in my opinion the funniest of all time. Virtually every great comedian of the time had at least a cameo
appearance. The one exception was Bob Hope.

I like shaun of the dead a lot, but I can't say one is better than the other really. when Nick Frost walks into the old dude's arsenal and says
"By the power of Grayskull!" I almost pissed myself. there are just so many good lines from Hot Fuzz.

made after the year 2000 are awful. Good comedies are still being made to this day.
I was also born in 1987 so I haven't been around long enough to see every comedy...

The Jerk, Spaceballs, Airplane | #53

The Jerk, Spaceballs, and Airplane have to be in the conversation. I do think Caddyshack is the best ever though.
Wedding Crashers is the best recent one. |

Almost all the John Hughes comedies were great | #54
|
Then there's Curly Sue and Dutch.
But, Weird Science, Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, Vacation, Christmas Vacation, Uncle Buck, The Great Outdoors, etc., are all classics. |

Very underrated... | #56

I think it got trashed on here, but I thought it was pretty solid. While I'm in front of the firing squad let me also say that Wedding Crashers is
overrated.

I say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists
who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did'. Kurt Vonnegut, Timequake, 1997
