where does one even get morphine? | #1
|
Xanax, sure. Morphine? I wouldn't know where to start looking.

packs have single shot morphine vials in them for battle field injury use. If you have some weekend warrior buddies, just a thought.

Heroin = Morphine* | #3 | ||

ETA: Not saying he was doing heroin, but it's scientifically possible.

Since when? I've never seen heroin reported as morphine anywhere | #4
|
I know they are both opiates, and heroin is made from morphine, but no one calls heroin morphine in articles. At least I've sure never noticed it.

It's a distinct possibility... | #5

I'm saying when they're doing the pathology, Heroin looks like morphine in the system.
But there is a reason that heroin is naturally associated with intravenous injection. Heroin is the least stable of all the opioids. Whereas morphine and codeine have half-lifes in the human body of about three hours (and the synthetic opioids can have half-lifes measured in days), the half-life of heroin is about two minutes. When heroin breaks down, it becomes morphine, primarily.link Otherwise, cancer units in hospitals use morphine all the time, but they guard it like hawks. It takes finger print verification at Children's Hospital in Birmingham. Heroin is a more likely explanation than he got a hold of some medical morphine.

What a shame. | #6 | ||
|
Morphine is the primary metabolite of Heroin. "Accidental" is the coroner/medical examiner's way of being nice to somebody who was shooting up
and did too much. The alprazolam didn't help. Again, what a shame.

right... he may not have meant to take lethal doses of the two drugs | #7
|
but it was certainly the opiate that did him in. Damn shame.

I didn't post this to open up speculation | #8

on the contrary I was trying to dispel rumors that populated this board in the days following this tragedy. For you to make such gross assumptions is pretty
upsetting. Kindly take your mindless drivel elsewhere.

there's nothing mindless about what he's saying. you may not like it, doesn't make it less likely | #9
|
Even if we hadn't said a thing, the fact that he had morphine in his system should tell you something. A couple posters were wondering about that
aspect. Logical explanations were offered. We're all big boys here.

Possibly could have been Dilaudid | #11
|
Dilaudid is "hydromorphone." Occasionally people get sent home with oral Dilaudid for severe pain. It's not the same as morphine but I guess the
paper could confuse the two. Who knows. Either way it's still sad.

Morphine comes in tablet form ..... | #12

in 15 mg immediate release tablets/liquid or as controlled release tablets with multiple strengths(MS Contin) and both forms obviously require prescriptions.
