Posts: 7953 Aug 10, 2010 5:32 PM CHICKEN LITTLE	That caused him to see ghosts and hurry throws and pretty soon he lost confidence in himself too.  The sad thing is that we knocked the shit out of Garcia in that game and Snead didn't really get hit that much (just hurried) so I think it was also a lack of mental toughness.  And by the way, I voted for Snead to come back although i'm doubting it now.  He left because he didn't have confidence in our line and receivers and, therefor, didn't have mental toughness it takes to play the position.

Snead didn't and had no desire to return, compete, and regain the form that made him so much fun to watch. Posts: 3755 Aug 10, 2010 6:40 PM Registered Member	(and even some last year:  Alabama) but he was not in the same galaxy as Snead when it came to that.  Holy hell Snead was awful last year.  When he bounced a ball off Bolden's earhole, in the backfield, in the first half against SC I thought holy shit.  And this behind an offensive line that, if I'm not mistaken, allowed the fewest sacks in the SEC last year.

But, now with Masoli in the picture, we're potentially getting to have our cake and eat it too. Regardless of how well JM performs, Stanley will be getting plenty of PT. He's seen Alabama, LSU, Auburn, etc... Even through his struggles I believe the past experience would have helped. After watching Stanley in the Cotton Bowl, I really believe he could use another year of tutelage and study, strong arm and all that he just didn't seem ready. Snead leaving early hurt, but with the addition of Masoli, I feel Stanley will get reps, but also get the extra year of improvement it looked like he needed

Posts: 243 Aug 11, 2010 6:45 AM	but in addition to not being able to catch, our recievers were weak and ran horrendous routes.  The route running was a much bigger deal than everyone made it out to be.  Our recievers last year, other than Hodge, couldn't get separation and got jammed hard at the line.  Additionally, they made lazy cuts, rounding the turn on out routes and not breaking back quickly on curls.  Austin's offense seemed to have a lot of timing involved, and a lot of the time our receivers would not be in the right place at the right time.  That said, as many of those bad plays were on Snead as they were on the receivers.  I voted no.  I am not glad he is gone.  I would have liked to see he and Stanley compete for the starting job and hopefully one of them would have been a much better qb because of it.
