Posts: 5 Sep 1, 2010 7:50 AM	Tags : None I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet but Kenneth Cooper was a basketball player at UAB this past season who was granted the residency waiver to play by the NCAA.  Kenneth Cooper had also been kicked of the team at La. Tech the prior year for a violation of team rules 15 games in to the season and decided to finish his schoolwork and graduate.  How is this not the same situation as what Masoli is in right now? Kicked off team Graduates Enrolls at different school and participates in a sport Only difference is the NCAA's ruling. Link

We have preached competition since the first day and there is a winner and there is a loser and there is really good things that happen to winners and there is nothing good that happens if you don't win. Posts: 213 Sep 1, 2010 8:50 AM	Link Cooper played in 67 games at Oklahoma State with 17 starts as a freshman and 11 starts as a soph­omore. He decided to leave the school because of what he called “family problems at home.” He landed at Louisiana Tech, which is about 30 minutes from his home, and sat out the 2007-08 season as a transfer student. He was a key addition to last year’s Louisiana Tech team, averaging 11.7 points and 7.1 rebounds while starting 14 of the first 15 games. But he was dismissed from the team after 15 games by Louisiana Tech head coach Kerry Rupp for violating team rules. Cooper chose to stay in school to finish work to­ward his undergraduate degree. He also looked for a school where he could begin work toward a mas­ter’s degree in health education while using his final year of eligibility. Rupp, an assistant under Davis at Indiana and for one season at UAB, helped him land at UAB.
